Almost all ancient Egyptian gods hold the Ankh including Pharaohs. The origins of how it came to symbol or how it was derived to represent life is uncertain among Egyptologists. The gods are often seen holding an Ankh to someone’s lips this is considered to be an offering of “The Breath of Life”.
